Full Garden Design Service

If you want a beautifully designed garden that feels considered, cohesive and built to last, this full design service could be for you.

What to expect:

  • Five distinct phases, each with a clear outcome.

  • Format: A mix of in person and remote.

  • What’s included:

    (1) Initial Consultation

We begin with a meeting at your home to view the garden and discuss your vision, understand how you want to use the space, alongside any preferences for style, materials and planting. I will provide a full summary afterwards, outlining proposed approach and fees.

  • (2) Garden Survey

I will measure the garden and record existing features, levels and any constraints that need to be addressed. Soil analysis may be carried out and, for more complex sites, a topographical survey can be arranged.

    (3) Design Concept Development

This stage is about translating your functional needs, style preferences and lifestyle into an overall concept for your garden. An initial hand-drawn, scaled concept plan is created, supported by sketches and mood boards. Indicative materials, planting and colour palettes may also be included.

    (4) Masterplan

The Masterplan is a detailed, fully scaled drawing that forms the blueprint for building the garden. It provides landscape contractors with clear specifications and allows for robust budget planning.

    (5) Planting Plan

A detailed planting plan sets out the planting scheme in full - showing plant species, quantities, sizes and positions, supported by a complete plant schedule.

  • Additional Options:

Planting - I can source and supply high-quality plants from trusted trade nurseries and oversee the planting process to ensure the design is implemented correctly and to a high standard.

Maintenance Plan - To help your garden thrive long-term, I can provide a tailored maintenance plan. This offers clear guidance on how to care for the garden throughout the seasons.

  • Fees: Cost is subject to the size and scope of the project and agreed after the initial consultation.

  • Timescales: Project duration varies depending on complexity, scope of work and build scheduling - with typical full design projects taking several months.

Planting Design and Installation

If the garden structure is in place, but borders need refreshing with colour and seasonal interest, then this service will bring new life to your garden.

What to expect:

  • Three distinct phases, each with a clear outcome.

  • Format: A mix of in person and remote.

  • What’s included:

    (1) Initial Consultation

We begin with a consultation, either at your home or online. We’ll discuss what you’d like to achieve and review the area to be redesigned. For online consultations, measurements and photographs will be provided by the client. I will provide a full summary afterwards, including proposed approach and fees.

  • (2) Planting Palette

Mood boards and sketches are produced to define the planting style, colour palette and overall feel. This ensures the proposed planting complements your existing garden and reflects your preferences.

    (3) Planting Plan

A detailed, scaled planting plan is produced, setting out plant species, quantities, sizes and positions. A full plant schedule is included, allowing you to obtain accurate plant costs from nurseries and acting as a clear guide for planting.

  • Timescales: Project duration varies depending on complexity and scope of work - with typical planting design projects taking a few weeks.
